Recipe for Howling: How to Embrace the Darkness and Get the Most Out of Lion’s Gate Astrology Portal

Hot with the potion of the heart and quivering of the mane, the mythical Lion’s Gate Portal opens on August 8, 2024, a date observed by ancients, astrologers and numerologists.

The portal opens its feline jaws from July 28th to August 12th, but its powers are thought to peak on the 8th.

The Lion’s Gate refers to the annual alignment between the sun in Leo and Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, also known as Alpha Canis Majoris or the Dog Star.

Rachel Stavis, world-renowned exorcist and best-selling author of Sister of Darkness: The Chronicles of a Modern Exorcist, asserts that to make the most of this magical time, we must honor, express and integrate.

“Forget peace, love and easy bull – it’s time to be powerful, focused and complete!”

Rachel Stavis

Stavis tells The Post, “On the other side of the Lion’s Portal are dreams come true, change and growth for the positive, and all of us step into our power – IF we face something we’ve been avoiding: ourselves. “

The ancient Egyptians revered the power of the star Sirius as the personification of the agricultural goddess Sopdet and associated the star’s heliacal rising with the annual flooding of the Nile River and the beginning of a new year.

In this context, Sopdet can be seen as an integration of light and dark, endings and beginnings, the flood before the flowering, so to speak.

How to manifest during the Lion’s Gate Portal

Rachel Stavis explains how to integrate to lift up.

Similarly, Stavis explains that in order to reap the blessings of this portal, we must first face the darkness, “There are two main spiritual aspects of ourselves: our light and our darkness. Many people actively work to avoid their darkness: they ignore it, shut it down, or ignore that part of themselves. But this is to their detriment because we cannot move forward – even abundantly – without seeing, understanding and integrating our WHOLE being.”

How can we determine if we are, in fact, in our power?

Stavis notes that if you:

  • You have outbursts over the smallest things
  • You are not speaking for yourself or speaking your truth
  • Are people satisfied?
  • Need external authentication
  • You feel overwhelmed by your emotions

Most likely you are out of your power. But fear not, my babies, you can brace yourself, step forward, roar loudly, and reap the rewards of this season’s Lion’s Gate.

Read on for Stavis’ recommendations on how to recover and win.

Clear with a Lion’s Gate journal quest

Stavis has a tall order for those of us who feel small: “Write down everything negative you’ve ever thought or said about yourself. I know it’s tough! But this is the deep work required for real change. Look at those lies! Ask yourself: If I were in my power, what would I really think?”

This exercise is even more necessary as we are in the midst of a Mercury retrograde cycle, during which we are asked to review and revise the stories that limit or defeat us. There’s no better time than now, folks.

Royal wrath

Stavis claims that rage can be high frequency! Rachael – stock.adobe.com

To harness the power of this portal, we can listen and act in harmony with our royal rage.

Stavis explains, “Many spiritual gurus have taught people that it is ‘low frequency’ to have anger and that our darkness must be transmuted. But this is not correct. Our anger often compels us to stand up, speak up, and move in our own power. All of this is actually high frequency!”

To honor the high frequency and divine feminine majesty of our rage, Stavis says we must scream to approach the source: “Find a safe place (a pillow, shower, car) and BREAK! It can be words, phrases or just noise. Scream it until you’re a little hoarse and eventually you’ll start to notice the feelings beneath that anger.”

Protect yourself

With retrogrades afoot and portals wide open, it’s a jungle out there, folks.

Stavis recommends protecting yourself and your space from unwanted interference and low frequencies with a little salt cure, “Use black salt around the perimeter of your home and outdoor spaces for a little protective boost. Spray it along the zones to create an energetic and safe space.”

Thank your darkness

Letting go is real work, folks, and Stavis shows that recognizing and offering thanks to the dark side is part of that work.

“Realize that these shadow aspects of yourself have been doing a lot of heavy lifting! They have protected you, helped you and comforted you in the past – even if that has changed now. Give credit where it’s due and thank your darkness for getting you this far. Light a white candle and say whatever you feel at this moment to your shadow self.”

Embrace your newfound power

Level Up! Ulia Koltyrina – stock.adobe.com

Stavis says, “Forget peace, love, and easy bull—t, it’s time to be powerful, focused, and whole! Let go of what you think spirituality “should” look like and embrace all that is.”

To root and level up, Stavis advises, “Find a comfortable place to sit outside. Take three grounding breaths. When you feel ready, ask Spirit to integrate all parts of yourself without prejudice. Allow yourself to feel this happening (spinal rushes, hot and cold spots, tingling throughout the body, etc.). When you feel the ritual is complete, thank yourself for allowing it to happen.”

Benefits of healing and progression during the Lion’s Gate

Stavis claims that when you’ve done the work to face, integrate, seek and allow, you’ll notice the following benefits:

  • You have fewer outbursts because you have self-control
  • You speak when you have to
  • You don’t need anything from others, but feel grateful when you receive
  • You understand your emotions and are not afraid to integrate them

Acting from this place of wholeness will ensure that the energy of the Lion’s Gate is fully received and channeled into wealth of any kind!

As Stavis explains, “the wild, fearless and powerful energy of this year is asking you to embody these aspects. Can you be fierce, fearless and powerful? If so, the sky’s the limit this fall! Nothing will be able to stop you, and the joy you will feel is just the beginning!”
